  • We had numerous door prizes donated by O’Reilly Media, Inc. and The Linux Foundation. Including 7 books, Linux logoed T-shirts, hoodies, water chillers, and more. Due to the low turnout, everyone present won a prize.
  • 15 large pizzas, 4 desserts, and 22 liters of soda were make available, free to all attendees (and much extra was taken home)
  • Some freebee equipment was made available, including various cables, heat sinks, power conditioners, and IDE drives. Several dozen quality IDE drives were available for silly-low price purchase (and almost all left for new homes).
  • Mark Davis:
    • Was unable to SHOW part of the presentation due to the HDMI convertor not working, but discussed Android Linux 4.3 and the new restricted user option plus the hidden permissions revoking tool.
    • The new Linux based Chromecast- what it is, how it works.
    • Announcement of apparent success with the newest version of LibreOffice such that it looks like it will be rolled out to LTTCH users in a week or so.
    • Additional discussion about Linux and open source in business.
