  • Mark Davis gave a presentations on:
    • His experience with Linux and the new Lenovo ThinkPad Twist; including failed attempts at dual booting MS-Windows 8 and EFI, GUID formatted drive, SSD performance, how remarkably well the hardware is supported, and thoughts about touchscreens under Linux.
    • A demo of Osmos a great physics game under Linux obtained through one of the many Humble Bundles.
    • Quick unveiling of the new Google Nexus 10 (present at the meeting).
  • Guest presenter Tony Kepper from Inmotion Hosting gave a presentation. A company with 220 employees, 200 based in Virginia Beach, that uses Linux and FOSS extensively in their operation. Tony provided an overview of how their company operates, it's history, how they use FOSS, their hardware, and how they provide support.

Attendance: 13 members + 1 new + 3 returning + 2 visitors = 19 attendees, minimum.

Congratulations to B. Billingslea, who has become our latest "Senior" member and to Matthew Fillpot, who has become our latest "Fellow" member!!

Membership: 64 members + 1 new member (Rietscha) + 3 returning members (Martin, Peters, Brelin) - 2 expired (S.Davis, Altonaga) = 66 TWUUG members.
